Knowledge Base of Svellyo

Notifications, Slack and Discord

Svellyo tells you when something needs a person. Notifications are per person and per workspace, so each teammate chooses what they receive for each product.

Email notifications

Under Settings → Notifications in a workspace, each teammate can toggle:

Notification

When it is sent

New conversation

A visitor starts a chat and nobody on the team is online

Escalated to human

The AI hands off, or a visitor asks for a person

Assigned to me

A teammate assigns a conversation to you

Weekly digest

A Monday summary of volume, AI versus human resolution and ratings

Emails include the visitor's first message and a link straight to the conversation. Replies to the email are not delivered to the visitor; answer from the inbox.

Visitors who left an email are notified by email when you reply and they are no longer on the page.

In-app

  • Sound in the inbox – a chime in the dashboard when a visitor writes in any workspace you belong to. Off by default only if you turn it off.

  • Badges – open conversation counts on the Inbox item and on each workspace in the switcher, plus an unread count in the browser tab title.

  • Realtime updates – new messages appear without refreshing.

Browser push notifications for background tabs are on the roadmap.

Slack

  1. In Slack, create an Incoming Webhook for the channel you want (Slack: Apps → Incoming Webhooks → Add to Slack, pick a channel, copy the webhook URL).

  2. In Svellyo, open Settings → Integrations, choose Slack, paste the URL.

  3. Pick the events: New conversation and Escalated to human.

  4. Click Send test to post a sample message, then save.

Each event posts a short message with the visitor, their first message, the page they were on and a link to the conversation.

Discord

  1. In your Discord server, open the channel settings, then Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook, and copy the webhook URL.

  2. In Svellyo, open Settings → Integrations, choose Discord, paste the URL, pick the events and send a test.

Tips

  • Use one channel per product (workspace) if you run several, or one shared channel with the workspace name in each post.

  • Webhook URLs are secrets. Svellyo stores them encrypted, and you can rotate them at any time by pasting a new URL.

  • Only workspace owners can add or change integrations.
